Dark Eyed Junco

Captured thru the window today. Fat little guy!
Caz
Wonderful capture, I've never seen these, we only get the grey/white ones here in NC.

You've caught the light just right so that the details in his wings are very visible. Great photo.

And another winner of a bird shot! The details are great!

He looks all puffed up like a ball! You are good at identification as well as photographing them!

Cute little round guy - great photo!

@cazann - thanks Caz - juncos vary a bit - the ones in OR are a bit different too. I love their black hoods.
@judis @pflaume - Thanks Ladies. Isn't he cute?
@maggiemae - Thanks Maggiemae - I am learning. Five years ago I didn't know which was which - but I got some bird books and feeders, and started studying them a bit. I work from home and spend a lot of time on the phone and I have the feeders where I can watch from my desk.
@mamamia - Thanks Joanne!

You are getting some great bird pics!

Oh, love the addition of sun to the bird photo-booth! That peachy tone on its breast is lovely.

@corgimom @vitamink @anwan - thanks all! Anwan - the sun was just right on the breast feathers. Funny but when this bird is hopping around, he looks pretty dull.

Wonderful! I can't get near our wild birds - even with a longer lens!
February 27th, 2013
Beautiful capture. The light and detail are wonderful, as is the bokeh. Hard to believe you took this through a window!

Beautiful shot with the extra light. Guess the sun must have decided to come out. :)

@andrina - lol - thanks Andrina - yep - my hubby took off the screen and cleaned the windows really well - of course with all the rain and wind they will be dirty in no time.
@paul2782 - Thanks Paul! @steampowered - Thanks Paul - trick is birdfeeder outside your window. :-)
@steviepix - Thanks Stevie. @bristolrose - Thanks Kathyryn - I like about the stormy weather that we will have rain, sun, hail - sometimes all at the same time. :-)

Jan, what a great picture of Mr. Chubs. He has beautiful, soft coloring and the background sets him off perfectly. I love that you kept is simple and focused on him.
