...... already attacking my rose bushes, the buggers......
I use a bridge camera, so no interchangeable lenses for me.
Finally got round to having a go with the snap-on 4X macro conversion lens I bought months ago. Once I got used to the tiny depth of field it was quite easy to use. These aphids are about 1 mm long. Until I looked at the shots I had taken I had no idea that they had those little 'handle-like' structures on their back ends - they remind me a bit of little insecty wheel barrows.
I was inspired to buy the lens after seeing the stunning photos of dew covered dragonflies taken by this man - he uses a bridge camera and conversion lens too. (Think I've got a way to go until I reach his standards tho!)
They DO have handles on the back. I am like you (as discussed on that bug photography thread)...I love to see all the things about bugs we have not been seeing!
@espyetta I use a bridge camera so can't change lenses, but this is done with a Raynox MSN-202 snap-on macro conversion lens. It is quite difficult to get used to focusing because the depth of field is miniscule. If you want to see what can really be done with one by an expert have a quick look at the link I have put in my commentry a the top of the page - amazing close-ups of dragonflies covered in dew
@jantan Jan....I guess when I view this site from my iPad with keyboard pulled up, I miss certain things! I did not see you'd written all that about the camera! Sorry! And I will go see the link.... :0)
