we really are having the most amazing weather at the moment. almost 30 degrees C by day and not much below 20 at night. Lovely!
There are drawbacks though. I am spending about an hour and a half a day watering the garden and having to make frequent trips up to the pigs because they keep tipping their water over so they can lie in it. It isn't a bad thing to be visiting frequently because one of them is due to give birth any second, and although their tipping their water over is a bit annoying it isn't too bad when compared to my friend who keeps two pigs for breeding. They are kept on concrete and when it is hot they clear a space in the straw, wee on it and then roll in that to cool down. Yuck.
My frequent trips up to see the pigs are taking some time and I have to walk up a very steep hill to get to them so, much to the boys' amusement, I have started to use the quad bike to get up there. For some reason the thought of their 49 year old Mum on a quad is hilarious, cheeky buggers!
My Mum and Dad came over tonight and we had a Chinese takeaway. This was at Sam's request because he was allowed to choose to go out to eat or have a takeaway to celebrate his getting a distinction in his trumpet exam.
My parents are off to Turkey for ten days on Thursday with my brother and his family. It always amuses me when we get a good summer here in the UK, people who have booked to go abroad seem to be disappointed that we are going to be having good weather in the UK when they are away. I can imagine them lying on a beach somewhere thinking 'I do hope it's cold and rainy in England.'
Lovely shot, especially like the PoV. I hear you are joining our little gathering next Friday, so happy you can make it, I shall really look forward to meeting you.
Lovely shot and I was interested in the info about the pigs. I've known for a long time that they are intelligent but never knew that they are so ingenious!
I am one of those people who actually believes that my clicking on 'buy flights' should result in the UK being cold and drizzly for the duration. I have never forgiven summer for happening during the three weeks in 2007 that I was out of the country. In bloody April!
