Another filler today. This is another water droplet and rudbeckia shot from a couple of weeks ago.
Graham was working from home this morning. After being accidentally shut out of their house a couple of weeks ago, the chickens have taken to laying their eggs in random spots around their large and rather overgrown enclosure. Apart from the fact we now have to search for the eggs, the main drawback of this is that when we do find them we don't really know how long they have been there. So, I do the old 'put it in water, if it floats or stands on end it's rotten' trick. In spite of this, this morning I cracked an egg open and the contents were completely rotten. Now I have a relatively strong stomach, but this really got to me and an extended bout of retching and heaving ensued. Graham, who was at the opposite end of the kitchen had no idea what was going on and in between retches I managed to explain that the egg was off. In the end he had to dispose of it and the bin bag that I put it into because I couldn't get anywhere near it. I don't know what I would have done if he hadn't been at home..... well, I suppose I do, and it wouldn't have been pretty.
Another (and final - I promise!!) water drop and rudbeckia shot:
So pretty with the flowers in the droplets. I encountered a rotten egg a long time ago, maybe 25 years ago or more, from my local grocers, their eggs were usually lovely. I can still remember how absolutely revolting it was and I still crack eggs individually over a small bowl first before adding them to the mixing bowl.
Those tiny reflections in each drop is just perfect....a National Geographic shot Jan!! Bad egg smell is disgusting specially when you aren't on top form anyway!! Hens soon get bad habits...we find egg pecking is one of the worst,...little devils!
Absolutely awesome shot! And,please do not make it the last water shot - they are beautiful!
They do look like a string of beads ... except we could never get them this pretty!
Hope you feel better soon.
