A filler from earlier in the week because although I did take some pics today, they were all rubbish. This is another frosty sunrise shot taken on the way home from taking the kids to their bus stops.
The hill in the background is Edgehill, the site of the battle of Edgehill in the English Civil War in 1642.
Friends of ours are arable farmers and they farm the land in the foreground. They often find lead musket balls and other artefacts in their fields. In fact they were approached by 'Time Team' to see if they could use their land for an archaeological dig, but they were not prepared to compensate them for the damage they were going to do to their crops.......
Oooh beautiful. I'd love to own an ex battlefield. Those TV people take liberties - they are never prepared to pay to get punted down the river in their 'let's film in Cambridge' forays and that's a lot cheaper than trampling somebody's crops.
