The best thing about it was that I was able to 'stealth feed' the pigs because they were all asleep in a big heap at the bottom of the field in the sun. This meant I could sneak into the field and put their food out before they spotted and therefore mobbed me.
Bliss in comparison to a few days ago when one of them (quite correctly) determined that the most direct route to the food was between my legs. This of course unbalanced me and to avoid falling over I scrambled out of the way leaving my shoe behind in the very deep, very wet mud. So, I had to walk back through the mud to get it. And then put my very muddy foot back inside the shoe. Marvellous!
Graham has been up in Doncaster for the past couple of days sorting things out after the death of his mother. Fortunately he and his brother have done as much as they can for the time being, so he is back tonight.
Oh dear - that's sad news - horrible to have to deal with too - I was behind a man in the post office and he was trying to sort out his mother's account with umpteen forms - the girl was very sensitive though. Love the piggy tails.
Oh Jan i do worry about you and your drove of pigs. Have they got 'moving on' plans? I wouldn't have meant to laugh if I had seen you making your escape with one shoe but I bet it looked hilarious!! Love this shot, fav
My condolences to Graham, his brother, and you on the loss of Graham's mother. I bet he'll be as glad to be home as you will to have him home.
