The topic we are studying in our art group at the moment is doors and windows, so today I have been going round the house taking photos that we I can hopefully use for a linocut print next week. I think there is a bit too much going on for this one to be turned into a linocut;
I often look at those minimalist white kitchens with clear worktops and windowsills with envy. Try as I might, minimalism doesn't seem to be my natural style.
The weather has turned a lot colder today, with quite a lot of rain this morning as Sam was setting off under the weight of a very heavy rucksack (and with a nasty ingrowing toenail) on his Duke of Edinburgh expedition.
Frost is forecast for tonight, so it is going to be a cold one for Sam, and I guess the end for a lot of the garden flowers. We are out for dinner tonight, so I have cut some flowers to take for our hosts.
Beautiful Jan....who wants minimalistic when you can have this lovely cosy family kitchen? Love the whole look...you can keep your stark white characterless kitchens in my opinion.......mind you its all a matter of taste! As for the camping out Lydia was freezing at night & that was when it was hot in the day mid September but the temperature fell rapidly....hope Sam has plenty of warm socks....I think they sleep in their clothes!
It's lovely! I don't do minimalist kitchens either. Rachel had a friend once who's mother only had a kettle on her kitchen surfaces. She was weird in other ways as well.
Thanks @judithg. I think that could be a pretty good rule for life - don't trust anyone with only a kettle on their worktops. Sam's home, tired, no blisters, but to giving a lot of jip, and it was bleeding when he was away. Poor lad has got a big biology test tomorrow, so he has got to do a load of revision now.
I love this kitchen so much more than I could ever like a white minimalist kitchen--the latter would be much too clinical. Love the colours and light here and the view out of the window, also your processing, fav for me. I hope your son gets home not in worse condition than that in which he left.
