My youngest son went round to my friend's house this morning to make some cakes with her.
5 hours (!) later I had a call inviting me for a cup of tea and a cake. When I got there I was flabbergasted to discover how much they had done. This less than half of what they produced.
They had such fun that they have already booked a stall at our village May Day celebrations.
Superb display of cakes ... and a superb portrait. He looks so pleased with himself. It's great to see kids enjoying the simpler things in life - s may seem to be welded to their playstations :)
He should check your fellow Brit Jane Brocket's blog. Her young daughter is an avid baker and her confections are often featured in the blog. Link below http://yarnstorm.blogs.com/
Kudos to your son for being so creative (and I bet he enjoyed the cakes as well!). You've really caught his proud expression well and the cakes do look delicious :-)
Even eclairs!! They are clever!! Love the cake stand too - it looks collapsible. This reminds me of my brother. He's always loved to cook and is now a food technology teacher in London. Gorgeous photo for the family album.
