One of our neighbors actually has a "lending library" outside their house. It's a little birdhouse style with books in it available to anyone that wants to "take one/leave one".

What a lovely idea, I haven't never seen anything like that before, although people do sometimes leave their unwanted books, CDS etc, out on their walls for people to take.
