Bayan Grove

For those of you who have been to Honolulu in the past, you may have enjoyed the International Market Place on Kalakaua Avenue -- a throw back to the 1960s where funky little stands sold touristy and handcrafted wares all surrounding a giant and venerable 100 year old Banyan Tree. Alas time and the necessity of profit marches on . . . all this has been replaced by a new glitzy and definitely upscale oriented shopping center featuring Hermes, Ferragamo, and even a Tesla showroom to appeal to the modern consumer. Thankfully, the Banyan was preserved. Sigh.

By the way, this is photo 1000 of my combined albums since I started 365project on 01-01-2016
First congratulations on your 1000 photo! Second how disappointing to hear about the market. It has been many years but I loved that that place. You got a terrific shot of the Banyan tree though and like you I am glad to hear they preserved it

Jay we are paired together again. I would love to try the mechanical again. I have some ideas just not time to work on plus I am visiting @olivetreeann the end of this week and I am sure she will help me with this project. And can you do another panning maybe a person running or a dog or a horse but a car works.

@joansmor We might find something at the old barn- if not, we'll be on the look out elsewhere!

Nice shot Jay- what an interesting tree- glad it was preserved even though the local flavor wasn't.
