This guy has some potential as a subject. You may want to place him on a table, counter or some other location where he doesn't have a complicated background behind him. Maybe on a table, near a window (outside light is good). Then, you can use you flash to light up the shadows. It's hard to stretch and learn new things. Good for you, to take up the challenge.
