New/Beginnings jan20words

Another drizzly day so no outdoor photos. I noticed on the challenges page “January Words” and New/Beginnings was for January 1. I’m a few days behind but thought I could use my orchid which has some new buds.
Fantastic shallow dog to focus on those tiny buds! Fav

Yes Kathy! A friend gave this plant to me when my mom passed away in February 2018. It had white flowers. Last year is bloomed again around February. It looks like it's on schedule to bloom again in February.

Nice shot! I’m waiting for a white orchid to re-bloom. Leaves are real healthy but no sign of a stem yet.

Well this little orchid is ready to re-bloom for the second year now. When my mom passed away in Feb. of 2018 a friend gave it to me in full bloom (white flowers). Last year in the exact month it bloomed again and I was shocked. I had never had an orchid before and had assumed it was dead. This year it looks like it will bloom again in February! It’s such a nice reminder to me of my mom. I think it likes the spot that it’s in on a counter in the kitchen with eastern light. stay tuned for a shot when it does bloom!:)

Sounds like a very special orchid! I’m sorry for the loss of your mother, but what a beautiful reminder! I lost my father in 2018 so I know how special those gentle reminders can be.
