Struffoli

I had no idea what to post today, so I went to the dec20words list and see that it is “food”. My daughter Christine made these Christmas favorites for us. They are an Italian dessert also known as honey balls. She has been trying to perfect them for a few years now but this year I think she got it! My parents used to make them when I was little and I remember some years they were light and delicious and others like little marbles lol!
They look wonderful and such a colorful shot.

They look great! Are they deep-fried like mini donuts? Wonderful Christmasy shot!

They certainly look interesting. You have been awfully quiet lately, hope everything is ok.

Sounds a bit like the Dutch 'oliebollen' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliebol

Arranged on the bright red tablecloth with the cheery seasonal greeting, it's made the perfect picture for the word prompt "food". Out of desperation for ideas of what to do for the month of January, I may do the words list for the first time ever.

@kjarn hi, just so busy with Christmas. We were in Connecticut 25th and 26th. Kind of relaxing today. I'll try to catch up tomorrow!😁

@beckyk365 yes they are deep fried have you had them? Some bakeries have them this time of year although not as good as home made.

@lyndemc I use the words list often, it helps in a pinch.

@jb030958 no I haven’t but they sound really good. There’s a new Italian bakery that’s opened up not too far from me, I should check them out.

@beckyk365 that would be the place to have them!

I thought they were chickpeas for a moment, but seemingly not. They look very tasty!
