Panellets by jborrases

Panellets

The "panellets", are a typical dessert of Catalonia and other regions of Spain. They are prepared for the festivity of All of Saints. The dough is made from ground almonds, sugar, eggs and boiled potato, outside are covered with pine and painted with egg using a brush to brighten, then cooked in the oven. There are also other forms to finish that. Danbo has tested panellet and he liked, but this time he was not alone, someone else has joined the party ;)
What a fun shot. Those sound really yummy too. Hope Danbo and his friend share with you.

@ladygator thank you very much. They were so kind to let me tast the last one ;)
@yaorenliu thank you very much. I'm glad you recognize my work. Feel free of google the receipt searching for "panellets"
@joansmor thank you very much. In the original receipt I think that you don't use potato. They are added to the dough, to use less quantity of pine nuts and almonds because they are expensive. Also they help to let the dough more thickened. In they origin the potato were used in europe, during the middle age as a forniture plant. ;)

@nicholas thank you very much. I suppose you're kidding. I have "googled" maggots. They are light years away from our "panellets" ;)
