Caga Tió by jborrases

Caga Tió

Two days ago, I wanted to incorporate into the project the figure of "Caganer". Today I introduce you another popular tradition in Catalonia: the "Caga Tió". A wooden trunk with a funny face, a catalonian tipical "barretina", and a cloth covering him. Children meet around him, giving taps with a rod or stick, singing a song, finished the ritual, this "magic trunk" gives them little presents like sweets, chocolate, nougat and other goodies. Feel free to read more about this on wikipedia
Fun shot, and interesting hearing about the tradition of them.

Love them. They have different eyes. How cute! I shall find a tree branch in my garden and do a fun face on it.

A great tradition not to be lost. The world has lost most of its beautiful traditions through time. It is great to see some are still around. The shot is very beautiful and clear. Thanks for sharing.

It's funny how traditions seem so silly to whomever is not doing them. :-) Great shot!
