Rain stopped play by jeff

Rain stopped play

Fortunately it didn't stop the badminton. (Yes, we do play indoors but we can't play when it rains. It's a long story...)
But as soon as I'd finished my post-exercise coffee, down it came. So this is the only sea-front photo I managed to take.
Hmmmm ..... i'm trying to think of a sensible explanation, but I guess that's asking a bit much. Roof leaks? Electrical problems? The club don't want players to drip excess rain on the floor? The shuttlecocks don't like low pressure? The floor swells up with damp atmosphere? Or maybe all the players prefer to go outside and stand in the rain because it's good for their hair?

@julienne1 Your first guess was actually correct. Replacement of the 28 year old building is long overdue as its many faults include a leak in the roof above the badminton court. Even if no rain gets inside, games have to be abandoned in case somebody slips on a non-existent puddle and sues the council. There was one surreal game when it started raining so everyone got changed and left only to find the rain had stopped. So we all went back inside and restarted the game. This ridiculous saga was repeated 3 times within the hour.
