The local paper (and my former employer for many years) is losing their last remaining photographer tomorrow. He was swamped with office work and other assignments, and the game started late besides. He fired me a text asking if I could grab a few frames at the game. So after my students left for the day I grabbed a pair of Nikons and got to the game partway through the 3rd inning. I grabbed shots form a couple of innings and headed home to edit and FTP images to the sports desk.
The paper has a new photographer arriving late next week, but the managing editor said they are going to be looking for some part-time help. Time to get used to the heavy cameras again.......
