Aftermath of bushfires in alpine regions

The burnt out trees make for some interesting photography in the Victorian alpine region. I think the fires were way back in 2003 (but I might be wrong as there were also huge fires around 2006) - however there is now plenty of regrowth with the mountain ash eucalypt understory now about 7 metres high. The trees don't survive intense fire, but the seeds do, so germinate and grow once the cold weather sets in.
