A fun shot for anyone whose childhood featured Punch & Judy. I spent happy hours on holiday on Brighton beach watching them.
A show came to a local village garden show and I was able to remember all the "punch" lines.
Mr Punch was still beating his wife and throwing the baby down the stairs. The crocodile bit his nose and ate the sausages. The policeman and Joey found him out. All very political incorrect these days but still made me laugh.
Oh wow - are these still touring around? great series of shots - Punch and Judy used to scare me a little when I was young - but I still was a little fascinated by them at the same time!
@sparkle I was amazed to see it. I thought I had read that new "rules" meant that they had to have an entertainers licence which was going to put people out of business but maybe that wasnt for touring ones.
@claireuk Claire, you havnt lived! Go to google then put punch and judy shows and choose you tube. There is one for Covent garden, I just played some of it, it will show you what it's about. There are travelling shows in Durham area. May be something for Annabel when older if not too scary.
