Windswept Sunflowers

The last of the sunflowers at Hitchin Lavender. Not the best day, cloudy and quite windy. Thought I would try a b\w.

Sunflowers are not as easy to photograph as you think, and they do seem to grow in dusty areas. The black and white is a good editing choice here Jen.

I think the b&w emphasises the 'feel' that you wanted to capture and the contrasts are good too. They look as if they are huddled together with their backs to the wind.

Going black and white when there is a gray sky is a great choice. You can up the contrast a little more to bring out the drama of the clouds. Nicely shot!
