Beautiful shot! We are going up to the Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend, I hope that there are still blooms left by then, I read that they would peak this week. Lovely capture!
Gorgeous classical shot! I lived in DC in foggy bottom many years ago and would go for a run around the monuments in the evening. Jefferson Memorial is my favorite and this brings back a lot of great memories for me : )
This is just gorgeous! I love the cherry blossoms and this view is amazing! Used to take a group of students there with my husband, but we always missed the blossoms! Fav!
@hiiretips - How much more snow needs to melt before you get your spring?!!! You had a LOT of snow!
@grizzlysghost - that would give me goosebumps to witness re-enlistment on the steps of this monument! How long were you in the service? I have incredible admiration for those who give their lives for us, so Thank you for all you've done! My brother is in the Army. Makes me super proud!
@terek55 - you still have time! Our local weather guy (WHAG - hagerstown) was down there today and they were peak today! So I will bet that if there is not a good storm or heavy rain, they will still be out for at least another week. If you have no plans this weekend, you could brave the crowds! :o)
@portereliz1958 - I think you will be in luck! Our local weather guy headed down there today and they are full and appear to be at peak today (I was there 2 days ago and mine were not as full as the pictures he posted) If there aren't any storms, wind or heavy rain, I think you will be in for a big treat! Go EARLY. REALLY early so you can get a good spot to park and before the crowd gets crazy.
@ellimae - thank you! I appreciate the follow and the sweet comments!
@gark - Foggy Bottom is still a great place! DC has it's issues though, so some of the really cool places have trouble. But even so, still a great place! There were so many runners on Monday. I was amazed at how they navigated the crowds. I guess you get used to it. But a wonderful place for a run, for sure!
