larkspur

Bought these flowers today, cut a bit (not enough) off the bottom and threw them into this vase to put them in water, intending to spend some time figuring out how I wanted to shoot them. They were so tall. On a whim I tried shooting a vertical panorama of 13 shots. I've never done anything like that before so I was curious to see if it would stitch together. It did. So then I faffed it in PS, adding space on the sides, cropping etc. So for better or worse it's today's pic. Odd size. Good learning experience.
Love the color of the vase and how the stems look in the water. The flowers are a beautiful color and the reflection is very nice. It sounds like you learned a lot with how you shot this... it is always great to learn something new.

Great job with the vertical panorama. I think as a piece of art, it would be even more beautiful cropped just at top of vase so you just have the gorgeous blooms and background

@jgpittenger Thank you so very much for the feedback! I will try out your suggestion. I definitely don’t like the reflection. I am always happy and appreciative to receive critique and suggestions for improvement.

I like the flow of colors and how it fades into black at the top.

Terrific shot and processing. Love it on black and love the reflection. The plant and the vase are also beautiful.

I love the slenderness of the photo. It adds to the beauty of the flowers.
