@debbyglynn@debbyglynn Dear Debby - yes, reaching the top of a mountain is always a special experience. It can be so moving that you look for the encounter with the mountains again and again anew. If you love the mountains, the mountains love you.
@joysabin Dear Joe Sabin, thank you for your nice comment! I am very happy about your words. "... but still respectful". You will never see a photo of me with a victorious pose when I reach the summit of a mountain. This attitude is deeply strange to me. You can be grateful if the mountain has allowed you access and for his wonderful gifts. You may be happy to see a mountain flower that sways in the wind; to feel the gentle summer breeze caressing your cheeks; to see the wonderful mountain ranges that extend to the horizon; to be so close the clouds... But I never go to a mountain to to defeat it...
There is something rather special about this shot, the texture of the rocks against those clouds works really well and I love the composition, lovely. FAV
@jo13@jo13 Thank you, Jo, for your nice comment! I am very honored by your visit.
It touches me that you notice a context between the textures of the stones and the clouds. This dialogue is the actual theme in this picture: the bottom and the top, the earthly and the heavenly...
The image values are contrasting: the stones hard and angular, the clouds soft and fluffy. And yet, they have a similar pattern, they play together. I am so close to heaven when I reach the summit...
I am very interested in this kind of relations, not only in pictures. I think it is important to see the individual things in context - not just in pictures. Discovering and creating relationships is the open secret in our life.

In the mountains I am in another world.
The rocks, the sky... the clouds so close...
Alone I am in the mountains... lonely... and yet: secure in a larger whole.
