summit cross in sight

Now I am on the cross-step above the glacier. I look up to the last section leading vertically upwards to the summit of the Dachstein. As you can see, I am not alone on the mountain. Other climbers have this goal too.
An incredible feat. Your image really is great.

Amazing

Oh! To high. Great textures and scale.
November 30th, 2017

I am amazed at how many people are up on this fierce looking mountain. To reach the top must be exhilarating. You can see each crevace and detail here and almost try to climb it in your mind.

Oh my, great skill needed for this.

Looks very difficult, but I bet the view is worth the climb. I look forward to your next photo.

I am in awe of how you figure out how to make these climbs - such wonderful shots of this climb and those hikers.

@caterina No, I'm not a professional mountaineer. I would like to improve my knowledge and skills. The better you understand the mountains, the more you can appreciate and enjoy them.
December 2nd, 2017
@helenhall Yes, there were actually too many people on the mountain. On a summer's day under these ideal weather conditions, the mountain is almost overcrowded.
December 2nd, 2017
Do you have to use ropes on the last bit, or is it a scramble the last part?
December 2nd, 2017
@overalvandaan Most sections are secured by rope.
