Pausing and enjoying. I take a short break and a look back the way. You see below the snowfield on previous photo. I crossed it successfully. But watch out - also the loose boulders can be fatal.
We are very close to the summit. We'll be up soon.
This photo is a stitch of 48 single images.

Ascent to mountain Bosruck, Upper Austria.
beautiful! but i look down and i get this feeling that i'm going to roll down on my arse and i can feel the rocks scraping my back. it's so 3D-ish! aces, my friend. aces!
Austria has definitely moved to the top of my list of places with the most beauty - if I had your adventurous spirit (or ability!). Absolutely awesome shot.
@summerfield
:) Dear Vikki, if you would accompany me, I would take special care of your ass.
For you anyway, I prefer the superman-cape. Then we fly together over the mountains. Is it an offer?
@ahleena A very interesting idea - to live on top of a mountain. For me, though, I live in the city. But in a figurative sense, I live in the mountains... In my mental images, I am always looking for places with an unobstructed view of the vastness... I think it is not enough to drift from one particular to the next. Even the creation of a picture needs an overview of the whole. You have to see how the details relate to the whole. Everything is in context.
It's all pushing for a view of the whole... No matter what we do, where we are...
@milaniet Thank you, Milanie, for your kind attention! The mountains give you a lot, if you want to understand them.
For many mountains in Austria, there is the possibility to reach a summit easily. Many mountains are accessible by cable cars.
@jerome Well, I only ask because every shot of yours that I look at I think to myself first, awesome shot and second, how long did it take to walk there? Because your photos are usually of the remotest of remote places.
@ahleena
Dear Poppy, thank you for your kind comments.
My mountain tours are mostly one-day tours. Unfortunately, I usually do not have more time for it.
Yes, of course I prefer looking for remote areas. What I am looking for is silence in places that are as untouched as possible by human hands. These are places where I want to collect my thoughts. The mountain makes me feel my whole body. The access routes by car I try to keep as short as possible. In order to have as much of the daylight as possible, I usually start in the dark and reach the foot of the mountain at dawn. It can be very uncomfortable if you have too little time for the descent.
And you do not need much for mountain hiking: fine mountain shoes, fitting pants, a backpack, trekking poles. As I grow older, however, I already feel my photographic equipment - it is getting heavier every year...
@ahleena Dear Poppy, what are the arguments against taking a tour in the mountains? Maybe there are health reasons that I do not know.
You live in Louisiana, United States? There are not many mountains there to my knowledge, but certainly very impressive landscapes that you like to hike.
Anyway, I thank you for your friendly interest and wish you all the best.
Unfortunately I only know Alaska from the USA - a bit. A few years ago I was traveling in this country for two weeks.
Greetings to US-LA!
A stitch of 48 single images? I can't fathom how that works. Do you stitch in sets and then stitch sets into more sets? (I've been a quilter in a past life and that's how it works -- you make blocks, then connect into rows, and then finally rows into the bigger composition.).
@jyokota Did you do quilts? That is interesting. There are beautiful possibilities of designing.
For a description of how to do my stitches, please see https://365project.org/jerome/365/2018-02-17 . I wrote this description about a year ago. There may be other and better software for this task in the meantime. But I'm fine with it. And I do not have the time to look around and get involved in new programs.

Sharing my mountain pictures with you is a very nice experience.
