The desert. I really wanted to see it. Hiking in the sand, experiencing its silence, seeing the dunes in the light of the Arabian sun. For me, the desert is not desolate, not empty.
A good read is the book "Arabian Sands", written by the Englishman Thesiger after the Second World War. It is a travelogue about the desert of Oman. He loved the desert. He describes the life of the Bedouins in one of the most inhospitable parts of the world. He lived as one of them, reporting from an Arabia before oilseekers, trucks and Western imports reshaped it. It is a narrative of a world and a culture that is lost.

Your edit gives them almost an extraterrestrial feel. I loved the desert, too. Ten years ago I was in south-western Libya, close to the Algeria border. It was simply a dream come true.
@domenicododaro It must have been a great adventure. Surely you have taken great impressions of this trip. Unfortunately, Libya is currently not recommended as a travel destination. It is sad how politics has ruined a whole country.
So excited to see this. Having just experienced the magnificent forms of the desert dunes in Namibia. And the silence of the desert - so special - precious moments alone as if absorbed into the stillness. This is wonderful - so brave to present in black and white.
I love this pic. Wonderfully sharp lines. I love the desert. I've travelled (camping) by truck through the desert in my early days. Great. The best sun sets and open air art!! Congrats on TT! fav
It's a nice experience if you like the shapes of the dunes as well. I would very much like to go back and feel the soul of the desert.
