My clever little Olympus EM10 has a facility called Live Composite which stacks multiple exposures in camera, adding only new light each time. This is 3 15 second shots of the exhaust from the central heating boiler, the “Ghost” The camera is also clever enough to “see” far more stars than my eyes can because of light pollution.

@fbailey Blast it, honestly doesn't always pay! I was playing with stars again too but one house keeps every light on inside and another has a very bright outside light all night. Maybe when it's warmer I can visit less light polluted places.

@jgpittenger Thank you, Jane. I was playing again last night, trying for star trails now I know where the North Star is. It was all a bit wobbly because I hadn't anchored the tripod with a heavy weight.
