4 of the 6 simple eyes can be seen as a line of pale raised circles on the face.
On the creamy line running along the abdomen is a spiracle through which the caterpillar "breathes".
It isn't active respiration as in mammals but the spiracle leads to a tracheal tube through which oxygen and carbon dioxide diffuse thoughout the body.
