14 July 2002

On this date, Limartine Red Girls LucySue and LindiLou were born.
17 September they travelled in Uncle John's camper to spend the rest of their lives in York.
Now there will no no more torture by shampoo and blow dry in preparation for the annual birthday shoot as Super Models.
Lucy left us in January and Lindi grieved her life away May 13.
For the first time since His Lordship, The Mighty Muscles' first birthday 27 June 1969, there will be no chicken cake to make, no candles to blow out, no party...

What a precious picture. They sure did love each other didn't they? Our dogs give such unconditional love. When people try to tell me that earth was an experiment and God failed I remind them that no, He did not! He created the DOG! A perfect loving little thing. (My sister's 2 dogs - a mini poodle and the smallest Yorkie ever - are both sick and old and they will go to the rainbow bridge probably on Monday. I don't know how she can handle two on the same day and I am not with her to help her. Tough day for sure) I am sorry you lost your sweeties but oh, the joy and laughter they did bring you!!

@bkbinthecity Thank you very much, they were close throughout their lives and Lindi grieved deeply after Lucy died.

@stownsend Thank you, Susie. Dogs are special little people, even the bossy ones! Your sister will be heartbroken when her babies leave, all we can do to console ourselves - or try - is to repeat endlessly that because of us, the doggies had good lives. Eventually it more or less works...
I will think of your sister on Monday and send her a big blanket of love and protection.

@fbailey Many thanks, yesterday was very difficult, but I have a new toy to play with and tax my aching brain.

@shepherdmanswife Thank you so much. Lucy's little body lived 2 years longer than her lovely vet expected she could but Lindi's grief was terrible to behold. At least when Sadie died, SirSamuel quoted Martin Luther King "Free at last, thank God I'm free at last" from the tyrany of her bossiness towards him, giving him 4 glorious years as an only child!
