The Admiral

I decided, in a fit of insanity to play with the reversed lens Canon 500d this morning and set focus on a Verbena Bonariensis. Red Admiral had the same idea. The butterfly did not move for several minutes allowing me to take a few shots. Not even the flash bothered him/her. This is uncropped, f14, handheld with only minimal lightening, I didn't dare change settings to correct the exposure. Didn't even take my own advice and use the 2 second shutter delay.

Great reverse lens picture.. i know how hard it can be to make a picture that way of a "living" creature... the details are super...

@madeinnl Thank you. Sadly he flew away when I approached with the Oly TG5 which does in-camera focus stacking.
