I've just learnt that the new owner of a beautiful species rich meadow on the outskirts of York has sprayed & destroyed a huge part of it & mowed the rest. The council grass cutters have been round again today on my street. A roundabout a few miles from my home was full of dandelions on Monday, I'm sure it will be devoid of flowers & insect life today.

@s4sayer Thank you very much. Dandelions are revered by insects and maligned by many gardeners. My messy garden grows them freely as an insect fast food restaurant early in the season.
And they are so very photogenic too, win win all round
