Perfect capture for the day for you, Joan. Valentine's Day was always so special to the kids. One of the few holidays I enjoyed when I taught second grade.
And happy valentines day to you too!.....and to your entire class as well....by the way, Joan, I have a school teacher friend who is looking for an opportunity to do a classroom swap of some kind, I can't remember her class grade, nor do I know what yours is, but perhaps it could be a match...just putting it out there for her. I know she is here in Ontario and I am sure she'd be thrilled to have a swap with a class in Alaska! Maybe if your class is older than her class perhaps something can be arranged with a younger class in your school? Just putting it out there for her.

Dar - thanks for the suggestion, but my class is 4th & 5th grade and has been writing to a Colorado class for the past 3 years. The rest of our teachers are in their first year and are overwhelmed with life in general. But I will definitely let them know. Thanks!
