While I am surrounded by the wild beauty of Alaska's far north, the reality of village infrastructure sometimes gets in the way. I find myself dodging power lines, fuel tanks, and various unsightly scars on this otherwise pristine landscape. These are the fuel tanks for our school and one of the satellite dishes for the village.
