Office Still Life No. 3

Today's major project at school: printing and stapling packets of work for "distance learning" for all of our students. Most of our Eskimo population does not have Internet access in their homes, so it's a paper-based system of education at this point.
During this time of home schooling, we're doing both - on line for those with internet access and pick up your weekly packet for others. They really have it pretty well organized. I imagine a lot of teacher work goes into this!

Things are changing and it must be a lot of work to set up a whole new system to educate the students. Given the length of time this distancing is likely to be needed I guess there isn't much choice but to get on with it.

I feel for teachers and students during all of this....

Great that they can have access to hard copies when there’s no internet. Our kids seem to be enjoying on-line learning. I meet with two groups of 7 kids for half an hour each day. In NZ we are still in lockdown but restrictions may change next week. Most likely it will still be a couple of weeks before schools partially reopen.

In Virginia school is closed for the rest of the year. A lot of the kids at my school are living with two or three families, have multiple kids at all levels and only have one phone to access materials. Others have everything they need and can jump right in. It’s hard to keep things equitable. We aren’t able to go back into school to make copies or anything.
