Technical difficulties involving geese, but not caused by geese.

I went to the Halifax Public Gardens today, knowing that it will soon be closing for the you-know-what. The pair of Toulouse Geese were out and about. I have so many photos of them in various positions/poses that I was going to do a Brady Bunch grid collage. With my internet connection continuing to crash, a 2 pose quadrat is all I have the patience for. Back at work tomorrow after 2-week vacation so should be able to catch up on viewing and commenting using a more reliable connection.
LOL!

Never seen these geese before, or even heard of them for that matter. What's that neck skin for? Odd, very odd.

Hope Jani doesn't see these, it'll frighten the life out of him! I really like this collage, and what kind of geese are they?

Sometimes the internet just isn't all it's quaked up to be :)
Nice detail in the photos. Hopefully your internet problems will get better

Do they get shaved for their wool? Looks kinda soft and fuzzy. :)

@mjalkotzy ~Not sure...since both have it, I guess it's not for the obvious. Unless the Public Gardens has it wrong and they're both males. ;)

@slang @pwallis ~ Toulouse geese from France. If you'd ever had foie gras (don't admit it to me, though!), it might have once been part of a Toulouse. Not sure if their feathers are used for anything down-filled.

they are strange creatures aren't they! nice collage.

Janna, this is terrific. Love the collage.

No foie gras for me thanks. Blech. And also inhumane.

I'm a bit pro-geese and anti-foie gras. It's all the rage still here in the UK and I keep telling people off who eat it. We don't breed these geese here though, we buy all that kind of stuff from the evil French. They are really cute (the geese, not the French, although they do seem to have a certain charm to them) their plumage seems very thick, are they aggresive.
We only have Canada geese here...if you're missing a few they're here!

@chewyteeth ~ Happy to share the Cdn geese with you...more than happy...will you please take some more?

@jgoldrup rumour has it they used to spend summer there and winter here and migrate and then one day they thought, sod it, lets choose one! and they settled in my home town. Thats a rumour I heard from a duck/geese man who I buy my duck eggs from. Send 'em on over...

@chewyteeth ~I'll see what I can do...

We've got a conservative government though now, so there'll be a lot of paper work if they want to reside here!

very cool collage!

I didn't know Toulouse was a kind of goose. As soon as I saw the name I thought of the cat in the movie Aristocats! lol
Too bad about your internet, I would have loved to have seen a Brady Bunch goose collage! Great shots, they look almost wooly!

@chewyteeth Please...take them! Can't go to the waterfront with getting goose poop all over your shoes!
