Actually, this new building is called The Vic, but it has picked up that nickname because of its balcony railings. When first put up, I assumed the red was just a film to protect the glass during construction. No. I think it's ugly, what about you? Considering there are no units available to rent, maybe I'm the only Haligonian to think that way. I think it might look pretty during sunrise, but I was still sleeping at that hour today. I can see this building out my front windows, but it doesn't block my harbour view - I never had one to begin with since the water is downhill from me.
I'm currently situated in Victoria, having previously lived in Beijing, Halifax, Chilliwack, Calgary, Vancouver and growing up in Northwestern Ontario. My aim with photography is...
I don't know, I kind of like the red, but maybe I'd have to see the building in real life. We have some buildings near GM Place that they've done a similar thing with, in primary colours, and I think it looks cheap and plastic'y. Love your angle and crop here!
I'm not sure I like it either. They red would always catch my eye and I'd always be looking up. But, maybe that's the idea?
I like your angle and those criss crossy lines!
