Seen Better Days

A different kind of edit for me but it was fun to play with. This was from our second day of the workshop at a ghost town called Rhyolite. I'll probably pos more from there. It was fun shooting there.
I love this! The processing and color really sets the mood. Fantastic shot!

You must have had to tear yourself away from the huge ruins in Rhyolite. I photographed it back in the film days and everthing was so high contrast I never used any of the photos. I need to go back. This is a tough photo to get detail in the shadows.
Did you know that the approximate date of this stuff can be determined by the tin cans in the background? The circles on the bottom of the cans are from soldering them closed, and depending on the type of seam on the can, a date of manufacture can be estimated.

@rvwalker Fascinating info. Thanks. I actually had pretty good shadow detail but in the edit it got lessened

The processing adds character to this shot - good to make a photo out of something not quite as beautiful to the naked eye!
