You probably have to view large to see the friend! There is a story that goes with this. I had just had a fabulous acupuncture appointment and felt all soft and relaxed and my back wasn't hurting at all after two + weeks of it hurting. I decided to go out on a little dock near the acupuncturists and was walking carefully out to the dock over somewhat uneven ground when I found myself suddenly knocked into from behind by a dog. Plop! Hard down on my butt! "Oh XXXX!" The owner of the poorly trained unleashed dog made some comment about it being alright. Easy for him to say. I was mad and scared that I would be back to ground zero, but went ahead and took a few shots before I went back to my car. This is to celebrate the fact that my back continues to improve. I didn't see the water spider until I got it on my computer.
There's been a lot of discussion of late on 365 re to thank or not to thank. I'd like to let everyone who follows me, who visits, who comments, who favs my shots that I am immensely appreciative and that I am overwhelmed with the time commitment of 365 and will spend what time I have visiting and commenting on others rather than thanking. Hope that isn't hurtful to anyone.
Fabulous focus and brilliant color! That center just leaps out of the photo! Glad you have gotten some back relief, and glad to know someone has had success with an acupuncturist!
Really like the way you've composed this. Striking colours too! Been looking into potentially getting an slr. The d800 is sort of on my list but its very pricey! Do you think it is worth it from your point of view?
@fueast Pricey for sure and not the fastest for capturing bird bursts...but you don't shoot them and heavy to carry at 70 yo but you are lots younger than I. Other than that I totally adore it. Love the full frame, love the ability to crop way in with still plenty of pixels, and most of all it's sharpness. I wasn't prepared to have to upgrade my LR because the previous edition wouldn't take so many pixels. If you have more questions you can email me at jgpittenger@yahoo.com

@jgpittenger thanks for that. Am also looking at a pentax due to weight and waterproofing issues. Stalking a possible bargain on eBay but probably it won't stay a bargain!

Love that. would like to crawl into that flower and take a nap. RE: D800 I am also not prepared to upgrade LR, although I know it is obviously inevitable. If you shoot high res jpegs instead of raw does it process faster for "bird bursts?"
