I finally got through the first pass of my 400+ shots from my photoshoot and found this exciting shot. The whole trip had been about shooting migrating birds and we had seen very few, but the very last day we noticed that the pile up of birds that we were seeing across an inlet were in fact not seagulls but PELICANS! WE found a road that we could get closer to them and got to watch them and shoot them for over an hour as they fed near the mouth of the river. Clearly an anchovy run was taking place. What a treat. I will probably post some more another day but I loved the bunch of silvery fish bouncing around in his open beak and the way the sun was lighting up the bottom of it...I bet someone out there knows what it's called. I'm excited to share this shot and hope you will view large if you have time.
Thanks as always for your wondrous support and taking My path from the top shot to the PP
