Critiques welcome.
The skunk cabbage are blooming. This was taken on the horse trail system up behind our house. The water feature is Berry Creek and the moss covered log on the left used to be the way across but Jim and our grandson cut and carried the other logs when the old crossing started to disintegrate. I hoped to lead the eye from the bottom left corner across the logs to the bright yellow skunk cabbage on the other side. I'm not sure if it worked or not.
I am packing up for a trip to Hawaii and may not be able to post tomorrow before leaving and will be off line for about 2 weeks. I will miss seeing your photos but will have my camera and post when I return.
Thanks so much for suggestions, comments, visits, favs
I think it works because of your choice of lighting. My eye is drawn to the yellow by the lighting and the leading line from the logs. Have a great time in Hawaii -- there's so much to photograph there!
It's gorgeous and I love the processing but...I'd love the see the sngle of the bridge a little less acute to the bottom of the shot. (if that makes sense.)
Jane, you have certainly succeeded in your mission. I love the trunks starting off in the corner, and the bright green patch is certainly the strong focal point. The remainder of the background (branches and bushes) are quite busy. I would perhaps try to burn them a bit or decrease their exposure in a new layer, but overall I think you have done very well.
I'll miss your posts and your constructive comments and suggestions...But enjoy your trip!
Colours are fantastic, I can see what you're trying to go for, maybe could have got closer to the logs at the bottom next time to get more of a depth :)
Have a great trip and enjoy Hawaii.
