Our camera club had an outing in Newport on Monday and the light was pretty disappointing especially on the bridge which was the primary point of interest for the photoshoot. I turned around behind me and saw the water in the marina was perfectly still and the light was forming a nice leading line.
I was so pleased that you liked my sky collage so much. it even almost made it to the PP (I suspect)! Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs. I always particularly appreciate constructive critique
To me, the clouds make this shot. They frame the boats so well, both reflection and actual. And they add interest to the water. These boat / mast shots are hard to do -- I really like your angle.
Lovely maritime shot Jane, your pov makes those low clouds look like they're almost pressing down on the masts.Great composition with a strong leading line.
This is such a lovely composition from just the right spot: the lines of boats are perfect, with the brighter line of sky between the two rows. Great composition, getting in all of the masts and their reflections.
I like the processing to the black and white here Jane, it works so well, making for a throng image. The composition is lovely and I like the reflections too.
