You Didn't Want to Kiss My Toad, How About a Llama?

Maybe you'd like to kiss this guy if not the toad of a few days ago?
I thought our camera club had an outing to the butterfly exhibit on Monday, but I had the dates wrong so a friend and I decided to go to the Wildlife Safari in Bandon. Big mistake! What an incredibly depressing spot with most of the animals having glazed over eyes except for those that were pacing frantically around their too small cages. Never again. I've been looking through my shots for some keepers and found a few to share.
Thanks so much for visiting, commenting, suggesting, faving. I've had a very busy week but should have time to visit your photos tonight.
What an hysterical expression!! Tough choice between kissing this or the frog!! Both have great stares, though! This one looks a little desperate!

Wow those teeth are so big, I wonder what he/she is thinking with that stare down the camera. I enjoy going to the zoo but hate seeing some of the animals in small enclosures however I think Tarango Zoo in Sydney is one of the better zoos in the world and their conservation programme is fantastic especially with the Sumartran Tigers which is an endangered species and less than 400 in the wild how. The zoo has 5 tigers, 3 of which were born there about 3 years ago. 4 men were arrested 2 days ago for selling tiger parts in Sumatra.

@elaine55 glad they were arrested. I swore I'd never go to a zoo again about 15 years ago but we went to a fabulous one in Belize about 5-6 years ago and simply forgot how bad they can be!

Jane, Australia is big on animal conservation and I would think every zoo here would here would have stringent guidelines. I know when my girls had a dolphin experience at Sea World when we were holidaying here back in 2003 they weren't allowed to touch ride or touch the Dolphins.

Lovely lashes and buck teeth! What a face. I struggle with zoos, sometimes, especially in the primate areas. They look so trapped and feel like family.

Fabulous, funny shot!

I'm not sure how I came to miss this Jane, but your description of the place you were visiting goes to my heart. It's horrible to do this to animals in the name of entertainment or even education. I don't go to zoos, though I realize some are less bad than others.
