Milky Way In the Bristlecone Pines

I had only been here one time previously and at the time I knew nothing about shooting at night. I've been longing to go back and try again. As we climbed the trail, it looked as if the thick cloud cover that had been in the area for the last couple of days was coming back in. Thanks to Jim, we persevered and the clouds passed over as it got dark. I'm still a novice at light painting and we were getting cold and tired (not to mention feeling the altitude), but I thought this came out pretty well.
Thanks for your visits, comments, critiques, favs. They mean a lot to me.
Beautiful!! That's on my bucket list, to photograph the Milky Way. I just don't know where to go to do it!!!

This is really lovely, Jane. Well worth the effort it took to get the shot.

Shooting at night and light painting are two skills that I would love to learn, but know nothing about. This is a lovely result... the bristlecone points up to the Milky Way. :)
