Overgrown Home In Sepia

Taffy reminded me of the 52 week challenge...this one is abandoned landscape. I decided I needed some encouragement to take my camera out in the brief interludes between deluges (we've now had 36" of rain since Oct 10th!). I have a picture of this abadndoned home somewhere in my albums a few years ago. It keeps getting more and more buried in the Himalayan blackberry vines.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
Love then scene and sepia look.

Such an interesting scene! The "weight" of the leaves makes it feel like it's choking the house, and yet the lacy opennes of the branches above offers air.

Nice shot. This reminds me of the "shed"/cabin my cousin and five young sons lived in over one winter in Shell, Wyoming in the early 1900s when husband/Dad had to go across the Big Horn Mountains to Sheridan and got snowed in. Their place had doors, but "We were never so cold in our lives", one of the sons, then in his 90s, told me several years ago when we were visiting there. The place where they lived that winter is still standing.. (barely)

Terrific idea to process this way with the sepia. The framing on it works so well, too. A really eye-catching scene.

Such effective processing, Jane. I like the framing you chose, and the way the sepia choice gives it a timeless feel -- very appropriate for the abandonment idea.

Great processing Jane, I like this shot. Hope you don't wash away, or get flooded. 36"!!!!!
