Glass and Wood from New Clarissa b and w

For flash of red February... high contrast B and W. Best on black I think. This is a glass sculpture made by artist and friend Karin Richardson that she made using wood and glass from a boat that washed ashore in Coos Bay years ago, the New Clarissa.

I do think I like it in B&W

Wonderful contrast. Both are great but I agree that the b&w is a bit more dramatic. Creative sculpture!

The b&w is definitely more dramatic I'd agree - it's terrific against black.

It looks like a turned out loaf standing on top of its baking tin... and what an unusual combination of materials. Excellent.

So pretty! Love it in b&w.

Perfectly focused against the background. Interesting that it's from a boat as I thought it was some kind of a nautical part when I saw it, but one that had served its time. Made me wonder at the story behind it. Works well in b&w and led to a strong composition.

This is so interesting. I thought the bottom looked like ice, but it must be glass. The top and bottom are like opposing textures and colours.

Interesting looking sculpture.

Fascinating and intriguing. Fabulous in b&w, but in this case I prefer the colour version.
