For the past week we've had yucky white overcast coastal skies so a friend and I took a trip to Elkton where the sun is shining to photograph butterflies and critters. You'll see more of those in the next few days, but for starts a hummer of course!

Beautiful capture. I assume you are getting the same smoke as we are. I told my husband today that I was suffering from seasonal affective disorder (sad), due to no sunshine, just weird looking sky.
@moonmtn I think we are getting June gloom in August. We had a couple of days with red sun from the fires but this is more marine layer and fog gloom. I know what you mean re seasonal affective disorder. It was such a relief to see the sun when we went to Elkton
Your hummingbirds are among my favorite and I like how you create a context for them in your compositions. This is beautiful, from the overall to the details in the hummingbird's wings.
