Another photo from my trip to Reedsport to practice with my new lens (Tamron G2 150-600). This is the big dude of the bunch. I ended up using about 4-5 textures here to get it the way I wanted it.

@jgpittenger Me too...have you tried it with a monopod? Doesn't help for stability, but at the zoo with Andie, I found it helpful just to have one to rest it on so it wouldn't be as heavy for me to use handheld. Still had to use faster shutter speed to avoid shake but it made a difference. I have one with a small manfrotto ball head on it and it worked fine.
@taffy I was leaning up against my car so that helped. I have a monopod but never use it! In fact I may have traded it in when I bought my Sony. I will check but don’t th8nk I have a ball head that will work. I’ll check it out.
Another awesome capture and edit. Have been looking at that lens, but just can't commit. Would you tell me one more time about your Nikon 300mm lens. Is it the F4-5.6. Thanks.
@gq for me, yes, it is heavy. I don’t know yet re whether I love it. It seems sharp and the VR works well but haven’t tried shooting moving creatures yet
