Blue Heron Flying Over the Marsh by jgpittenger

Blue Heron Flying Over the Marsh

When Pearl and I hiked on the South Jetty trail yesterday, we saw an adult bald eagle and two juveniles in easy shooting distance...but I didn't have my camera! Today I took the camera. No eagles but a blue heron. I liked him against this background...though I wish I'd used a wider aperture so the background would have been less distracting.

I'd trade an eagle for a blue heron! It works for me here with the gray log anchoring the bird in flight. I heard two (at least) sand hill cranes today, but visually only saw a rabbit as far as wildlife.

Shame about yesterday Jane. This is a good b-i-f shot, but as you said, the background is distracting.
