One more clear night before the rains are predicted to return so a friend and I went to Neptune State Park for some star shooting. I couldn't get down to the beach with my knee but I managed these stairs and liked looking up at the Milky Way and Orion from that perspective. I did a quick light painting on the stairs to make them visible. BOB of course. You will probably see more of last night's shots over the rainy days ahead.

That is the most incredible sky - so many stars visible. The gloomy light painted stairs really highlight the scene up above. Just as a matter of interest (only if you have time to answer!) - what did you have with you to use for your light painting - was it a mobile phone?
@jgpittenger Thanks Jane - that makes a lot of sense - and a head lamp is is obviously the thing to have!! DUH!!! Errol has one - I can see it being used for some night play. Thanks for the info? :)
Gosh, you're doing well with that gammy knee of yours Jane. This is a very good shot combining the stairs with their textures and colours and the myriad stars.
