I was looking out the window while talking with my daughter in Md when I saw a mother bird feeding its baby on the fence below our deck. It was too far away to see what kind of bird it was and I didn't want to interrupt the phone call. But when I was off the phone I got my camera and sat watching for over an hour. The mom ( a cedar waxwing) took a long time to come back with me sitting there.Eventually I got to capture this interaction. I'm concerned re what looks like torn skin on the baby's neck. I hope he'll be OK. What a thrill to get to witness. This is severely cropped.
